A Scientific Abstract for Seekers of Truth

I had a sudden and unexpected change of course in childhood that crossed international borders and cultures. All former norms changed at once. My reality often felt surreal, as though I was part of an experiment everyone else was aware of but me. Constantly challenged to adapt and connect, I grew up curious and contemplative. Early on, I asked, “Where did I come from?”—a question that silenced the dinner table. Biology was explained, but the deeper question remained unanswered.

Those timeless queries—Who am I? What am I? Why am I here?—have gnawed at me all my life. Innovation shaped every stage of my work: custom plastics, invention development, theology, ordination, biomedical studies, and finally my vocation as a physician.  I realized something profound few people stop to really think about. Something seemingly impossible: the present moment—“Now”—cannot be pinned down. Moreover, Reality is not the point where future and past intersect, because future and past do not exist. Only the ever-changing Now exists. Clearly this awareness left very little Reality to pin down to a certainty. This added a new timeless question: “Where am I?”  I was hooked by this conundrum–could not stop thinking about it. This book was about 20 years in the making, most of that time was contemplation about these conundrums and the paradoxes along with it. Everything I studied, for example, mind-levels which I employed in martial arts training. I went on “word-fasts” for days to force myself to observe “what is” and let every situation speak for itself.  

I met Christ early on, but faith only deepened my questions. “Are we spirits inhabiting human form?” If so, “How can that be?”  Night after night I prayed for insight until falling asleep. I yearned for truth about existence… about Reality. Sometimes I woke with new ideas. I would sketch diagrams on a notepad kept at my nightstand—many of which made it into this work. I personally hold that science is the study of nature, nature is creation, and creation would therefore manifests attributes about Creator. Because Nature—creation—is quantum at its core, this hypothesis finds legitimacy in both observation and physics. Even Max Planck, father of quantum theory, acknowledged the possibility of a higher intelligence behind matter: “All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.” Like Planck, TOR recognizes the implications—but keeps its scope scientific. This synopsis draws the boundary clearly: The TOR is a science, Our mission is to draw attention to the state of our existence. To show there is no such thing as death. 

Some authors have used the title, “Theory of Reality,” long after the date of our copyright. Some have jumped to the conclusion that we are God or they write about vibrations, psychic phenomena, out of body experiences, or near-death experiences without scientific hypothesis. You will not find mysticism or new age ideas in Theory of Reality by James Taylor Flores, M.D. Our aim is to approach this subject with refreshing clarity laid out step-by-step for the reader—leading to enlightening postulates supported by quantum theory.

This original Theory of Reality was copyrighted in 2002 in all its concepts. Refined over years into the 2020 edition you are reading today. It is time to make this work free of charge to the public in its eBook form—so that scientists, seekers, and believers alike may engage it.
